Frequently asked questions

Dolphin Tours questions, answered

Real answers from a local Nags Head dolphin tours crew — no fluff, no upsell.

Will we see dolphins?

Almost always — we go where they feed and don’t chase or feed them. Our sighting rate is high.

Is the water rough?

No — the sound is calm. Most people who get seasick on the ocean are fine on the sound.

Is it good for kids?

Yes — calm water, small groups, kids’ rates. A hit with small children.

Do you offer sunset cruises?

Yes — sunset sound cruises run in the evening, with private options. One of the best hours on the Outer Banks.

Where do tours depart?

Nags Head, Duck, and Corolla soundside. We’ll send exact instructions when you book.

What if the weather’s bad?

Weather cancellations are our call — we don’t run when the sound is rough — and you don’t lose your deposit for a weather call we make.

Still have a question?

The fastest answer is a quick phone call. We’re happy to talk through your situation at no charge.
